Fall is officially here. Somehow the summer flew by. Grapes are at their peak, though. They’re great for smoothies and add a lot of flavor. You can use any grape that you want. Green, red and I’ve even made this smoothie with cotton candy grapes! Super delish!
The blueberries are added strictly for nutritional purposes. They don’t really impart a lot of fruity flavor. We would need to add a lot of them to get enough flavor and they’re not exactly cheap. This is why grapes are a perfect addition.
Notes About Ingredients
Grapes – High in vitamin C and potassium. Grape skins are full of antioxidants, specifically resveratrol, which helps protect the body’s cells from damage.
Blueberries – Full of phytochemicals, including antioxidants, which help neutralize free radicals. These antioxidants are also strong inflammation fighters and linked to having a positive effect on brain health.
Kale – High in fiber, vitamin C, K and Beta-Carotene. Dark leafy green vegetable that is rich in antioxidants.
Celery – Good for your gut biome, high in vitamin K and fiber, and very low in calories. No need to take the leaves off the celery when using. You can throw those into the blender too!
